Though they were small and shabby, they offered great service and even better food. As the sun began to set, the restaurants prepared for customers by putting tables and chairs out in the small alley. This creates a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere than most restaurant areas. The local guide will teach you eating and drinking customs even drinking games. If you happen to enjoy liquor, you are most certainly going to enjoy this tour even more.

DESCRIPTION Gyeongbokgung Palace was built in 1395. It continued to serve as the main palace until the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592 – 1598), when all of the palaces were severely damaged. It was not until about 1868 that the palace was reconstructed and expanded to a 410,000m² complex with over 500 buildings. It flourished for several decades in this state until the Japanese once again demolished the palaces during their occupation of Korea (1910-1945). The 40-year restoration project that aims to fully restore Gyeongbokgung Palace to its original form has been ongoing since 1990.
